Okay, Okay. I got way behind on the blog. Unfortunately I was plagued with the worst stomach flu I’ve ever had this week. I was lucky enough to come down with it in the middle of the night on Monday. So I spent all day Tuesday “calling dragons”. It was great. I thought I was making a come back by about 4:00 in the afternoon, but then I got an awful fever. It was miserable. I was out of work for two days and totally exhausted. And nervous. I saw all my hard work falling apart. It was not good. Especially when I would talk to people to let them know that I was sick and they would say things like “Oh no! That’s going to be a major set back for your competition.” Great, thanks ass. I hadn’t thought of that yet.
So after two days of missing work and the gym, I decided I had to take the plunge. I headed back to work on Thursday feeling like I had the worst hang over of my life. I made it though, and I skipped out a bit early to hit the gym. I didn’t do a full workout, but I got through some lighter sets of squats and bench. As I was leaving, the gym owner came up to me and told me that I needed to make sure I was lifting heavy this week. F@#k. I thought that was last week. And I felt like it was good that I had just made it through any sort of a work out without spewing all over the squat rack. So I headed back twelve hours later on Friday morning for some heavy deadlifts. I did 6 sets of 1 at 235. Yeah, that hurt. I did some sets of lighter bench too, and then called it a day.
Saturday I woke up feeling like I was sick all over again, and I had to work all day. I was not pleased. I had made plans to work out early before heading to work, but I couldn’t do it. So I went to work hoping that I’d feel good enough afterwards to get my work out in. Luckily, I did. I was dreading it though. I thought I was going to have to drop the weights on all my lifts because I had been sick. I started with squats. I needed to do 6 sets of 1 at 165, 165, 175, 175, 165, 165. And yeah, it was no problem. I didn’t even drop back down to 165 because 175 felt so good. Then I had to bench 6 sets of 1 at 125. And again, it felt great. I event bumped it up to 130 after the first two sets which also felt good. So I went up to 135! That’s a PR for me so I was really excited. I tried 140, but had to have a bit of a spot. I was still pleased with it though.
Today’s workout was lighter since I lifted heavy yesterday and will again tomorrow. I squatted 5 sets of 3 at 145 and benched 4 sets of 4 at 110. I also did 3 sets of 12 RDL’s at 135 just to make sure I was hitting some of my auxiliary lifts. My back might feel it a bit tomorrow, but that’s okay.
Okay…..I think I’ve narrowed my song choice down to a few.
Ludacris- How low can you go
Keven Rudolf- Let it Rock
Akon- Sexy Bitch
Ying Yang Twins- Low (which I love except for the sweat dripping off my balls)
What’s your vote? I’m going to try to send in my selection on Tuesday. I also have to go to the Twin Ports Open website and enter a bunch of information for my personal bio. Ugh. I have no idea what to say, but I’m sure I’ll figure out a way to avoid making it sound too pathetic.
