So on strict order from my trainer, I’ve just purchased some weight lifting shoes. I don’t know much about them, but apparently they have magical powers. I had to order them online because it’s not something I can run up to Champs and try on, unfortunately.
And yeah, they’re pink….don’t judge. There aren’t too many options for women’s specific weight lifting shoes. And I do not want to even think about trying to figure out what size men’s shoes I’d wear. I guess on the plus side, the pink shoes will complement my pink socks at the next meet, which is thankfully several months away.
I did a horrendous squat work out today. My quads were crying by the end of it, my entire body was shaking, even my hands. Yeah, I’m a sissy. It was a bunch of sets of 10 at varying weights to warm up (65, 95, 115). Then 3 sets of 10 at 135. And then……the best part……1 set of 20 at 95. That was borderline torture. It was supposed to be at 115, but Ray had a moment of weakness and let me drop the weight down a bit ; ) It’s a good thing too. I think he would have had to rescue me if I would have tried it at 115. It felt awesome when I was done though. I was happy to get back to work after a long weekend of laziness and lethargy.
Tomorrow I’ve been warned about “clusters” for a bench work out. Don’t ask me what that means because I haven’t a clue. Maybe it has something to do with eating these between sets???
And one last thing……I will be living the rest of my life with the song “winner” in my head. We listened to it so much on the trip…..and I’m in love. I can’t get enough of it. Remember in high school you’d get your new favorite single (for some of us that meant tapes and my first one was Poison by Bell Biv Devoe) and you’d play it over and over and over? That’s me right now. I could put it on continuous on my ipod and listen to it all day and all night.
