Exciting news!! It turns out that ice cream is actually the key to my success. Fantastic. It’s cheap, tasty, and available almost everywhere. I don’t have to order it online and wait for delivery or doctor it up to make it so I don’t want to gag when eating it. It’s just good- all on it’s own. I was denying myself my regular ice cream indulgence since I was trying to cut weight. That’s when everything went down the tubes. As soon as I realized nothing was working, I temporarily threw in the towel on cutting weight and immediately bellied up to a big, gooey, turtle sundae. Delish……trust me.
I had a day off from lifting and dieting on Wednesday which helped me put a few pounds back on. By the time I got to the gym on Thursday, I felt great. It was dead lift day. I did 5 sets of 1 rep at 265 (6 pounds over my previous max) and had no trouble. Okay so there may have been some minor hitching, but it was good otherwise. Then I did some box squats and called it a day.
This morning I was back in the gym for speed bench. 6 sets of 3 at 105 pounds, close grip bench, pull ups and then dips. I was a bit nervous about doing pull ups because I hadn’t done them in over a month. I was hoping to be able to do 8, but was expecting more like 6. Fortunately, the turtle sundae paid off once again. I managed to crank out 10! I love it when your body surprises you.
I hope I’m still doing them when I’m 80 like this guy!!
I found the above picture on another blog that had some pretty interesting posts. Here is a shameless plug for pull ups, love it:
Here’s another interesting post about picking the types of food that you shovel in your mouth. The idea is that if mold won’t touch it….is it really all that edible???
Okay, okay I’ll quit bird walking.
Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know that I’m not still sulking. Quite the opposite actually now that I’m on a pure ice cream diet. You guys should try it, let me know what you think. I guarantee your maxes will sky-rocket!!!
