Only three workouts left before the next meet. I’m counting them down….just waiting until I get a break. It’s only for a few days, but I’m still excited. Everything is creaking and aching. I like my workouts more when I get down to lower reps, but they also seem to wear on my body a lot more. The whine factor increases significantly as the reps decrease.
However, the good news is that yesterdays squat workout was a breeze. Last week my opening weight felt like I was trying to hoist up Mt. Everest. Like this guy…
That thing makes him look like a midget! But at least this didn’t happen….
I wonder if she tried to pass it off as sweat????
This week was a lot better though. Of course, it was fewer reps this week too. I did 3 sets of 1 rep at my opening weight for squats. It was more like a brisk walk in the park. Focus on form. No problem.
Then I did some speed benching and some RDLs. I think I’m finally starting to get a bit better at speed bench. I’m hoping that it helps. It’s mostly felt like a giant waste of time to me because I’m so bad at it. But…I’ll reserve judgement until after the meet. I haven’t been practicing with a pause much for bench. I think the idea is that your added adrenaline will help you work through the extra difficulty. And maybe the speed benching will have some effect??? Who knows.
An update on the diet……um, yeah. I topped it off with some pizza and oreos this weekend….oops. I think instead of cutting six pounds, I’m more likely to end up looking like this guy.
Holy rolls hangin out of his onsie!!!
