This is not the best time to be developing bad habits….less than a week out from my next meet. However….that’s pretty much what I’ve done. So now it’s going to take some hard-core mental focus to change my ways. I’m going to have to get in touch with my inner Bruce…

I was doing some fairly light squats and benching last night. The squats went great. The bench, however, was just weird. I was benching 125 which is normally really easy. Last night though, I kept getting stuck about two inches off my chest. This is a lot lower than my normal sticking point…and there is no effing way I should be having trouble with 125 anyway!!! When I would get to the sticking point, I’d notice that my left elbow was flaired out. As soon as I moved it in, the weight went up- no problem. So what the H? Why was I doing that? I even tried to do it a few more times to correct it and had the same problem. I’m praying that it was just a fluke.
It could be worse though. I found this little clip of some gigantor guy trying to bench 600 pounds in a shirt. He ended up with a bunch of broken ribs…ouch!!
Luckily I don’t lift nearly enough weight to cause any sort of major threat to my life and well-being, but you never know.
Aside from my form issues, I’ve also been seriously paranoid that I’m getting sick. Since my bf was disgustingly ill for several days…..I’ve been second guessing every cough, sneeze, sniffle, headache, you name it. However…..no flesh eating strep to report as of yet. I have come down with a crazy chin twitch though. Seriously…a chin twitch. Who gets that? Apparently I do.
