One of my all time favorite CD’s!!!!
Today is a day full of drama…work…life….ugh. Any other Wednesday, I’d be ecstatic that I don’t have to go to the gym. But today…..I’m going to miss it. The gym is the one time that I don’t have to think about anything. It’s crazy knowing that many people go through their entire lives without the luxury of the gym (or physical exercise in general). Getting to a point where you’re so tired that you just don’t care anymore…..amazing. Maybe I’ll just walk the dog tonight. She usually craps out after about a half mile, but it’s the thought that counts ; ) My bf has his first race of a fall running series tonight. Maybe I’ll get myself worn out vicariously through him….cuz that’s totally possible.
Just to quickly recap yesterday’s workout. I did the dreaded superset workout AGAIN- pull ups and shoulder presses, dips and rows, shrugs and curls. I only had to do 5 sets of 8 each (mind you that’s still 40 reps of each exercise….240 reps total), it still sucked. I’m in volume hell. What did I do to deserve this?? I foam rolled a lot before and after teh workout, but my neck is still aching. I didn’t sleep again. My whining threshold is off the charts right now. I would rather go back to 5×20 squats than do that @#$%! workout again. Luckily, I won’t have to do it a second time this week. Christmas came early this year….I get Friday off from the gym!!!! I do have to face the minor detail of squatting 5×10 at 155 tomorrow, please kill me now whatev.
Alright, enough whining!! I’m fighting the urge to slap my own self across the face and yell “Suck it up, ya Nancy!!!” I can’t imagine how you guys feel.
I have a few links that you might enjoy or you might think they suck….I have no idea. The first is a link to the Pepsi Refresh project. USA Powerlifting is proposing a project to raise funds for drug testing and overall promotion. I, obviously, think powerlifting is great and think more people should do it….raw of course ; ) The little video is great too though. If you’re not familiar with powerlifting, there are good shots of the squat, deadlift, and bench press. And there are some really strong women….so inspiring! I was even lucky enough to meet one of them. Devin, the blonde woman who is interviewed about 3/4 into the video. She was a judge at my last meet. She’s apparently a bench pressing machine! So check out the video, and if you like the project, vote for it!
And one last link. I stumbled across this link this morning. Lots of easy, non-diet related tips to dropping a few pounds. So it’s a bit girly….but I thought there might be at least one person who’d be interested….
