His neti pot has so much more character than mine…..*jealous*.
Do you guys have one of these babies? If not….go straight to the store and get yourself one. It is the only pleasure I’ve had in my last three weeks of illness. However, you should really use it all the time. It’s one of the best things you can do to prevent illness. It’s like washing your hands, but for your nose! And it kind of feels like that too. You know how relieving it can be to wash your hands after they’re all grimed up? Same thing with my neti. I can breathe and my inner face/nostril region feels clean and happy. It’s amazing.
I had to cave this morning and actually visit the doctor for my cold. I hate going to the doctor for colds because cold are caused by viruses and do not require antibiotics. Antibiotics are the devil in my book, along with margarine. I avoid them at all costs. But three weeks of green goo slithering down the back of my throat has left me with no option. I’m ready to rejoin the world of the living, even if it means a dance with the devil. Please diarrhea gods….be gentle with me.
After skipping out on my workout last Friday, and not leaving the house all weekend, I decided that the rest angle wasn’t working for me. So I headed back to the gym on Monday. I had another round of 5×5 at 185 pound squats. It still didn’t come easy. My squat just feels off these days. I guess with my current state, I should just be happy to have gotten through it. Next up was a 5 rep max for dead lifts. I wasn’t looking forward to it given that I’m still plagued by some crazy light-headedness when I lift. I cleared off a bench near by so I had some where to sit and went after it. I didn’t have a goal in mind exactly, but I really wanted to get over 250. I started at 225, then 245. Ugh. It was tough. The last one was pretty hard to lock out. I debated whether I would go to 255 or 265 for a while, and then wussed out at 255. The bar was eating into my hands by the end of it. I swear the last rep almost killed me, but I got it. So there, 5 reps at 255 which was my max back in April. 320…here I come (I hope)!
Okay, that’s it for today. I’m rushing off to the gym again today for a 5 rep max for bench. I wouldn’t exactly say I’m feeling confident, but we’ll see how it goes.
